ROME, Ga. – The Young Harris College women’s cross country team concluded its season Saturday by taking second at the Berry College Viking Cross Country Open.

The Mountain Lions finished the 6K race with 58 points, while Berry College won the meet with 17 points. Birmingham Southern College placed third with 61 points.

Christelle Vereb was the first Young Harris runner to place, taking eighth in 25:14. Erica Brooks and Heather Richbourg placed 12^th and 13^th in 26:04 and 26:14, respectively. Ellie Parton was 15^th in 26:40 and Stacey Keaton took 16^th in 26:40. Maryanne Schramke and Robyn Finley were 26^th and 27^th in 29:45 and 29:59. Lindsay Coleman rounded out the individuals for the Mountain Lions in 31^st in 36:04.

Courtney Cooper of Berry College won the meet in 22:59.
