Mountain Lions sweep past West Georgia 9-0

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – Young Harris College only dropped one game in singles as the women's tennis team opened their home spring schedule Saturday (Feb. 18) afternoon at the YHC Tennis Complex with a 9-0 victory over the University of West Georgia.

The Mountain Lions snapped their three-match losing streak and improved to 4-3. The Wolves fell to 1-4. Young Harris was to have played at the University of Alabama in Huntsville Sunday (Feb. 19), but that match has been postponed due to rain and has been reschedule for 1 p.m. Central time April 15. The Mountain Lions will now return to action Tuesday (Feb. 21) with a 2:30 p.m. contest against Lander University at the YHC Tennis Complex.

Young Harris took a 3-0 lead after doubles as the Mountain Lions recorded 8-1 decisions in all three matches. The Mountain Lions closed out the match as they only dropped one game as they swept all six singles matches.
