Mountain Lion teams earn NSCAA Team Academic Award

2011 NSCAA College Team Academic Award Winners

MISSION, KAN. – The Young Harris College men's and women's soccer teams have each earned the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's Team Academic Award.

In all, 789 programs - 218 men and 571 women - earned the award by achieving a 3.0 grade point average as a team for the 2010-11 academic year.
Young Harris is one of 154 institutions and one of only five from the state of Georgia that had both their men's and women's programs recognized.
The YHC women's soccer team, under the director of Kathy Brown, had a 3.34 grade point average while the men's squad, under head coach Mark McKeever, had a 3.26 GPA.
 
The Mountain Lions finished with a 10-7-1 record during 2011 in women's soccer and a 10-6-1 mark in men's soccer.
