ATHENS, Tenn. – Young Harris College scored twice in the final 18 minutes as the Mountain Lions rallied for a 2-1 women's soccer victory over Tennessee Wesleyan College Saturday (Oct. 29) afternoon.
Young Harris improved to 10-4-1 while the Bulldogs fell to 9-8-1. The Mountain Lions return to the Frances Wood Wilson Soccer Field Monday (Oct. 31) for a 3 p.m. contest against the University of West Georgia.
The Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead at the 33:00 mark on Daelyn Swafford's goal off an assist from teammates Abby Fannin and Courtney Strickland.
The Mountain Lions leveled the match at 1 on Whitney Thomas' fourth goal of 2011 at the 72:28 mark. Young Harris, which outshot the Bulldogs 17-12, took the lead for good just over 10 minutes later on Rachel Wilkes' second strike of the season.
