Mountain Lions finished in seventh at Coastal Georgia tournament
ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – The Young Harris College women's golf team competed at the Coastal Georgia Invitational Tuesday (Feb. 14).
At the King and Prince Golf Course, the Mountain Lions finished in seventh place at 722 after carding a round of 351 – 20 strokes lower than their first-round score – on the par-72, 5,920-yard layout. Shorter University shot the low round of the day – 323 – to win the eight-team tournament at 666, five strokes better than tournament host College of Coastal Georgia.
Rachel Mason had the top finish for Young Harris as she came in 14th place at 168 after a score of 85. Courtney Moore moved up 13 positions into a tie for 26th at 179 after the low round of the day for the Mountain Lions at 81. Kelsey McEntyre came in 33rd place at 181 after an 89 while Carol Raterman shot a 96 to finish in 42nd at 194. Katie Bludworth shot her second consecutive round of 108 to finish in 45th place at 216.
Young Harris returns to action March 5 when they travel to Rome, Ga., for the Rome News-Tribune Invitational.
