MACON, Ga. – The Young Harris College women’s golf team is seventh after the first round late Sunday at the Eat A Peach Collegiate at the Oakview Golf and Country Club.
The Mountain Lions shot a 336, while host Mercer leads the event with a 294. Flagler is in second with a 311, followed by Shorter (312), Armstrong Atlantic State (324), West Georgia (327) and Columbus State (329). SCAD is eighth with a 352, followed by Coastal Georgia (360), North Georgia (362) and Truett-McConnell (427).
Rachel Mason paced Young Harris during the opening round with a 40 on the front nine and a 38 on the back for a 78 and is tied for ninth. Kelsey McEntyre is tied for 24th with an 81, while Coutney Moore shot an 86 and is tied for 37th. Carol Raterman fired a 91 and is tied for 46th, and Katie Bludworth is 49th after shooting a 95.
Lacey Fears of Mercer leads all individuals after shooting a 71.
The final round of the 36-hole Eat A Peach Collegiate concludes 8:30 a.m., Monday, Sept. 20 at the Oakview Golf and Country Club.
