CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Young Harris College men’s cross country team competed Friday (Sept. 30) afternoon at the Charlotte Cross Country Invitational at the McAlpine Park.

 The Mountain Lions finished with 864 points in the 34-team men’s field and came in 31st place overall.  The 8K race featured teams from NCAA Division I and II as well as NAIA institutions. Virginia Tech won the men’s team title.

Alex Bitok led YHC as he finished in 169th place out of 260 runners in the race with a time of 27:56.65. Cory Harrison finished in 189th with a time of 28:29.58 while Trent Jones came in 199th with a time of 28:50.78. Harrison Myers finished in 208th place with a time of 29:07.43 followed by Tim Montgomery (222nd, 28:39.61), Stephen Kuni (230th, 29:57.56) and Charles Too (247th, 32:10.50).

The Mountain Lions return to action Oct. 8 when they travel to Augusta, Ga., for the Jaguar Invitational at 8 a.m.
