Alex Bitok wins individual title at Toccoa Falls
TOCCOA FALLS, Ga. – The Young Harris College men's cross country team finished in second place at the Toccoa Falls Eagle Invitational Friday (Oct. 7) afternoon.
Alex Bitok won the men's individual title in the 8K race. Bitok set a course record as he won the men's race in a course-record time of 28:03, 21 seconds ahead of Truett-McConnell College. Bitok pulled away from the pack at the 3.5-mile marker and never looked back as he captured his first collegiate title.
Young Harris had three other top-10 finishes. Harrison Myers came in eighth place with a time of 29:33 followed by Trent Jones (29:34) and Terry Miller (29:35). Cory Harrison narrowly missed out on the top 10 as he came in 12th place at 30:00. Stephen Kuni (19th, 31:05) and Tim Montgomery (20th, 31:08) also recorded top-20 efforts.
The Mountain Lions return to action Oct. 22 when they travel to Rome, Ga., for the Southeast Classic at 9 a.m.
