Young Harris finishes in 21st place at Southeast Classic

ROME, Ga. – The Young Harris College men's cross country team finished in 21st place at the Southeast Cross Country Classic hosted by Berry College Saturday (Oct. 22) morning.

The Mountain Lions finished 21st out of 34 teams in the 8K race with 595 points. Bryan College captured the title with 65 points.

Alex Bitok was the top finisher with a 46th-place time of 26:48.66 while Harrison Myers placed 141st with a time of 28:18.37. Trent Jones came in 170th place with a time of 28:46.43 followed by Cory Harrison (177th, 28:54.92), Stephen Kuni (184th, 29:00.64), Terry Miller (192nd, 29:09.74), Tim Montgomery (217th, 29:50.20), Tyler Gunnin (246th, 30:55.35), Chase Alford (277th, 33:18.40) and Trevor Rich (293rd, 34:57.28).

Embry-Riddle (Fla.) University's Evans Kirwa was the top finisher out of the 309 runners in the event with a time of 24:17.89.

The team wrap up their 2011 season Nov. 12 when they compete in the Viking Open in Rome, Ga.
