UA Huntsville edges Young Harris 5-4 in season finale
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The University of Alabama in Huntsville edged Young Harris College 5-4 in the Mountain Lion's men's tennis season finale Sunday (April 15) afternoon.
The Chargers improved to 5-10 while the Mountain Lions finished the season at 7-9, an improvement of six games over last season's 0-14 ledger.
The Mountain Lions took two of the three doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead. The Chargers leveled the contest at 3 as they captured two of the top three matches. UAH took the lead 4-3 when Guillermo Reyes took a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles before Young Harris tied the match at 4 Tom Gibaud picked up a 7-6 (7), 6-0 win at No. 4 singles. The Chargers took the overall win when Marcos Rivera defeated Devin Hampton 7-6 (4), 6-3 decision at No. 6 singles.
