No. 10 Hawks defeat Young Harris 7-2

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – Shorter University won five singles matches en route to a 7-2 men's tennis victory over Young Harris College Tuesday (Feb. 21) afternoon at the YHC Tennis Complex.

The Hawks, who are ranked 10th nationally in the NAIA, improved to 3-2, while the Mountain Lions fell to 2-5. Young Harris returns to action Saturday (Feb. 25) with a 2 p.m. contest in Hickory, N.C., against Lenoir-Rhyne University.

Shorter took a 2-1 lead after doubles. Shorter's Florian Etienne and Romain Ferriera rallied to win the second doubles match as they won the final three games to take a 9-7 win over Young Harris' Martin Harach and Keon Gottenbos after the Mountain Lions and Hawks had split the other two doubles matches.

The Hawks captured all the singles matches except at No. 4 where Tom Gibaud defeated Colt Kelly 6-2, 6-1 for the Mountain Lions.
