THOMASVILLE, Ga. – Thomas (Ga.) University scored in the 20th minute and made it stand up as the Night Hawks shut out Young Harris College 1-0 in a men's soccer match at the Wendy's Soccer Complex Saturday (Oct. 29) afternoon.
The Mountain Lions ended their 2011 season with a 10-6-1 record, which is eight more wins than they posted during 2010. The Night Hawks improved to 10-6-0.
Thomas got its lone score from Nick Gilpin off a corner kick in the 20th minute. Young Harris dominated the match as they outshot the Night Hawks 10-5 (7-2 in shots on goal), but TU goalkeeper Andi Hoffer recorded seven saves to preserve the shutout.
