Jay Brown enters his second season as the pitching coach for the Young Harris College baseball team. 

This past summer, Brown served as pitching coach for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks in the Cape Cod Baseball League, where his staff posted a 2.77 earned run average. The Harbor Hawks captured the regular season championship with a 29-15 record. 

Brown comes from the University of South Carolina, where he was a pitcher and a team captain on the 2010 NCAA Division I national championship baseball team.

Prior to playing for the Gamecocks, Brown played for head coach Rick Robinson on the Young Harris baseball team from 2004-06.

Brown received an Associate of Arts degree from Young Harris in 2006, a bachelor's degree in political science from South Carolina in 2008 and his master's degree in public administration from South Carolina in 2010.

The Brunswick, Ga., native currently resides in Young Harris, Ga.
